I’m sharing Luvsome in my life as part of a Luvsome sponsored series for Socialstars™. All opinions expressed and the pupcakes recipe are my own. #Luvsome
Our dog, Bear, recently celebrated his 8th birthday! I can’t believe he is already getting up there in dog years. He is still as happy and energetic as ever. The only real clue he’s an older dog are the graying hairs on his face.
We had a little birthday party for Bear. He ate a Luvsome dog food dinner, followed by homemade pupcakes. I made these birthday dog cupcakes out of simple ingredients like peanut butter, applesauce, and whole wheat flour. I used naturally-flavored yogurt for the icing and sprinkled Luvsome dog food on top.
Bear switched to Luvsome dog food about three months ago. This budget-friendly dog food is made with high quality ingredients that provides balanced nutrition for pets. He is currently eating the Luvsome Natural dry dog food, but now that Bear is 8 years old, it is probably time for him to try Luvsome Senior dog food formula.
I like the convenience of being able to shop for Bear’s food at my local Kroger family grocery store. Luvsome can be found at the Kroger family of stores including: Food 4 Less, Fry’s, King Soopers, Kroger, Owen’s, Pay Less, Ralph’s and Smith’s.
Meal times for Bear are actually fun to watch. It’s kind of amazing to see how fast he can scarf down an entire bowl of food. I guess that’s a good sign that Bear enjoys eating Luvsome food!
I don’t know if Bear is extra talented, or if all dogs have the cool ability to catch a dog treat in their mouth in mid-air. Bear is really good at it. Like most dogs I know, he is a big fan of tasty dog treats.

Pupcakes were a special way for me to say Happy Birthday to my sweet dog. After all, he is part of the family, so mom needs to bake a birthday cake for him just like she does for everybody else!
Bear loved his pupcakes. The pupcakes actually smell delicious while they are baking — a lot like peanut butter cookies. Even I was tempted to try one. The recipe makes 6 regular size cupcake treats, so I saved the extra pupcakes to give him in the days following his birthday. Everyone loves leftover cake, even dogs!

WE have four dogs and go through a lot of treats. I have talked about making them homemade for some time and I’m going to have to try this one. Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty

Hi Donna, I am sure you go through a ton of dog food and treats with four dogs at home! 🙂 I think it can be pretty fun to try different dog treats recipes and see what my dog likes. I have some dog treat recipes (I really should put on the blog) with peanut butter and pumpkin Bear seems to enjoy eating a lot. I have even gone out and bought a dog bone shaped cookie cutter just for Bear’s treats. LOL I have found it helpful to make a huge batch at once and freeze any dog treats that won’t get used up within a week or so. The treats stay good frozen in the freezer for a long time.
